NPC Junior Nationals

Thanks to the MD website the results for the weekend's NPC Junior Nationals can be revealed. Although our Aussie readers may wonder the relevance to us, this event is the nursery for the next generation of top international bodybuilders.

All the talk this year was Trey Brewer. The results attest that Trey didn't really bring his 'A' game to the stage with him finishing a distant 5th behind Sean Allan. Whilst great for Allan this really doesn't give the hype of Brewer and real justification. In his quest for size, the subsequent dieting down for the show has left Brewer with some quite easily seen stretch marks and a physique that was nowhere near sharp enough to vie for top honours. We hope Trey can learn from the experience and move on to bigger and better things from here.

Congratulations to Sean Allan and lets see where he goes from here

NPC Junior Nationals News

Part of Austbbwatch's international coverage will be important competitions in the US. The majority of pro bodybuilders in the world today come from the US so its only fair that a fair part of our coverage is devoted to them.

Some surprise news this week. Franco Datillo, star of the DC training DVD was expected to give rising star Trey Brewer a real run for his money in the super-heavyweight division. We are sad to report that 2 weeks out from the event Franco has been diagnosed with pancreatitis which will prevent him from competing. Franco, a friend of Austbbwatch, has taken the decision to protect his long term health and recover from this illness rather than put himself at significant risk.

Austbbwatch wishes Franco (many know him online as 'Bulldog21') the very best in his recovery to full health and know he will be back bigger and better than ever

Lee Priest returns

It has been widely reported in the bodybuilding media that Lee Priest is to return from his suspension early, as a 'secret' IFBB meeting voted for his re-instatement. Muscular Development reports here that Lee will be available for the upcoming US summer shows with a view to qualifying for the 2008 Mr. Olympia. It is also rumoured that the newly introduced 202lb class, which will have the showdown on the Mr. O weekend was lacking the star power to generate a lot of interest and Lee being a part of that would add to the profile of this event. Remains to be seen how true this is but either way it will be good to see Australia's best back on stage with the best in the world.
Tell us what you think about Lee being back in the IFBB by voting in our poll at the bottom of the page

Welcome

Welcome to Australian Bodybuilding Watch. For a long time now there has been a lack of a central point of information regarding bodybuilding in Australia. Different federations, natural or untested. You might find the information you need on individual sites or boards but nowhere exists that's central, a 'one stop shop'. Hopefully AustBBWatch.com will become the place to go to for all the things you need to now as a competitor or just a fan of bodybuilding in Australia.

Admittedly these are very humble beginnings, but with some support from you as readers or subscribers this site will grow into something that becomes a niche in the bodybuilding community in Australia.

As a reader of this site we appreciate your input, so any suggestions for stories, shows to cover, or things of interest to you in the bodybuilding world please let us know. Our aim is to serve you, the community that makes bodybuilding what it is.

It should be a fun ride
